With the unbearable summer heat we have been experiencing it has become nearly impossible to start dressing in some of my fall faves, let alone transition pieces.  So, I wore this.  My husband thought I looked like Hawaiian room decor and that was alright by me.  

Hope you had a wonderful labor day weekend and soaked up the rest of the summer sun!  I didn't, I soaked up the AC and boy did it feel good!

I don't know if it's the heat, the early drinking (it's 5 o'clock somewhere) or a simple lack of motivation but I have had a total writers block this week.  I opened and closed this post multiple times this week because I just couldn't think of anything to say that would be worthwhile (and I suppose I still haven't).  So I settled on this.  The good news (for me at least) is that once next Thursday rolls around I am headed out and onto a mini vacation.  Believe me, it couldn't come sooner!

Onto the dress... It's so light, airy and comfortable for these hot and humid days we've been experiencing.  Plus there's the cute little cutout in the back!  I added the fun shoes for a print pop but left everything else very simple.  What's your favorite way to wear an LBD?

SHORTS EVERYDAY

In case you haven't noticed, but I don't think there's a way you haven't, shorts have been on very heavy rotation lately.  There is just something so summery about a pair of shorts and a tank top.  Plus with the hot and humid weather we have been having here lately I don't see much of an option.  Also, hooray for me!  My toenails are painted.  That's quite the accomplishment over here.  All toes are the same color and they aren't chipping.  It won't last long but it's happening now.  You can find the color here.  When the temperatures rise what's your go-to piece in your closet?

WEEK NIGHT DATE NIGHT

For whatever reason this week was slightly rough and called for a mid week date night.  It was exactly what we both needed in order to finish the week off on a more positive note.  This week has also been flaming hot so a cotton shirt and shorts was the best I could do.  I went sans bag since my husband paid for dinner and I also got a pair of shorts out of it.  Gotta love it when it works out that way!
