I've got to say, weekends just can't be beat.  There's just something so nice about waking up and knowing that work will not be involved.  Saturday was full of relaxing and lounging around which was much needed around these parts.  However, Sunday was chalk full of things to do.  We started the morning at the flea market searching for the perfect coffee table.  We found some contenders but my heart was already set on this beauty so there were no real finds other than some pretty cool sequin tops that made their way home with me.  Since the flea market solidified the fact that the West Elm coffee table was the one we headed there to check that off the list.  We rounded the day off with drinks, dinner and a birthday celebration with some friends.  So there are no complaints over here!  

This was the perfect outfit for the flea market considering we have been having some pretty beautiful weather here.  It was comfy, cool and easy to walk in.  You may notice a little lace popping out so make sure you check back tomorrow for a fun little giveaway!  Hope your weekend was just what you needed!

A crop top just makes everything a little more fun.  Maybe not everything, probably just the outfit but I guess that's good enough.  Try it out, I think you'll agree.

In other news, I bought this purse for my mom last Christmas because she told me so many times how much she loved it and then she never used it.  I would feel like a gift failure except for the fact that now I get to use it and I am totally enjoying it.  She might not be getting it back, but I think she's cool with it, it's not the first time this has happened...

I decided to get patriotic a little early this week.  I mean, what's more patriotic than a denim shirt?  Stripes, stripes are more patriotic.  My husband told me when I was wearing this that he couldn't figure out why women like jersey dresses because they are apparently unflattering.  While I suppose he has a point, when comfort is most important, flattery has to take a back seat.  And since we have been experiencing what I would say is a pretty major heat wave, comfort is definitely key.  It's the type of heat wave where people pile into the mall, not to buy anything, but to have someone else pay to cool them off.  I can't do that though because this time of year has those damn  summer sales and it's just too hard to say no.  So I let myself stay hot and just use this as my outlet where I let you all know the kind of weather I'm experiencing.  Hopefully one of these days I'll let go of my old man weather talk and actually talk about fashion, like a style blogger should, but please don't hold your breath.

Lately, I've been really into shorts and dressing them up in different ways see here, here, here and here to name a few.  Probably because when the weather's hot and I've got new shorts burning holes in my closet they are the first thing I put on.  I mixed a distressed camo short with an eyelet top (have I ever told you I could wear eyelet everyday?) to keep the shorts from looking too masculine.  

Debating a hair cut... I woke up about a week ago planning on making a hair appointment but then had a good hair day, doesn't it always work that way?  Decisions decisions...
