PRINTS ALL OVER

PRINTED

Asos Top & Shorts // Madewell Top // House of Harlow Sandals // TOPSHOP Skirt // J.Crew Shorts // J.Crew Bathing Suit Top & Bottom //Anthropologie Dress

I have been wearing a lot of solid neutrals lately but all I have wanted to shop for is prints, prints, and more prints.  There's just something about spring that makes me (and I think almost everyone) gravitate towards an outfit full of color and print.  I actually already scooped up the sunflower two piece set from Asos and can't wait to wear it both together and separately.  Is there anything you guys have had your eyes set on so far this Spring?

FLOPPY HATS + COMFY PANTS

Anthom Sweatshirt // H&M Pants // J.Crew Wedges // Target Hat, Similar // Madewell Bag

I'm pretty sure that I've said this before, but my husband and I tend to get a little stuck on things on TV.  Last month it was the olympics and it pretty much consumed every evening at home.  This time around it's Friday Night Lights and I haven't had a spare moment since.  So there it is, my reason for posts being so light lately.  It's just too good to stop :)

ONE YEAR

H&M Dress // Hudson Booties (also here) // Madewell Sunglasses // Madewell Bag

Last Sunday marked my one year blogging anniversary.  So, naturally for me I didn't blog all week.  Truth be told I was just super busy all week and every time I sat down to write a little I couldn't think of anything to say.  I guess there still isn't too much for me to say about it except that I am so glad I started this little blog because it has made me so happy and has taught me so much (mainly about myself).  Thank you to those of you who come over and check it out.  It means so very much to me.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

CHECKED OUT

F21 Tee // Asos Midi Skirt // J.Crew Denim Jacket // J.Crew Wedges // Madewell Bag // Madewell Sunglasses

Some weeks call for week night date nights because nothing else will get you to Friday and Fridays don't really count, right? I know I'm always checked out for the weekend by the time it comes around.

This skirt was the perfect option especially since it's been sitting in my closet since Christmas.  It felt too dressy for a Thursday night with anything other than a knit and a denim jacket.  Plus, it was super comfortable to a night of yummy food!

BACK TO IT

 J.Crew Tee // Madewell Jeans // New Balance for J.Crew // Madewell Bag // Ray-Ban Sunglasses

Although I danced for nine years I always loved basketball growing up.  I would beg to stay up late with my dad just to finish watching the Lakers play.  When I was in Junior High I finally quit dancing and tried out for the basketball team.  It was one of those situations where everyone makes the team (although I didn't know it at the time).  I would practice all the time but being small and not super coordinated the most I ever did was sit on the bench.  It was pretty devastating at the time but I learned that maybe watching basketball was as good as it was gonna get for me.

All that to say these New Balance reminded me of my basketball days.  Not sure I'm completely sold on them but they were just too comfortable to pass up!  They sell out quick so if you're interested you better snatch a pair fast!

OLDIES

H&M Top // Old Navy Skirt, Similar // Gap Sandals // J.Crew Bag // Windsor Hat // Madewell Sunglasses

This was the perfect light and airy combo for a relaxing and warm (almost 90 degrees!) Saturday.  Neutral colors and a bold lip is my perfect combo for Spring.  I'm pretty sure I've said this before but I love the beginning of a season because all your oldies seem like newbies because they haven't been worn in so long.  Combinations you never thought of before suddenly come to life and it's all free!

Any combos you're looking to wearing this Spring?!

WINE TIME

 J.Crew Top, Similar // Sabine Skirt // J.Crew Sandals // J.Crew Bag, Similar // Selima Sunnies

I don't have much to say except that this look could have definitely benefitted from a splash of color on my lips.  You live and learn and now I'm gonna drink some wine.  Hope you have a nice and relaxing weekend ahead, I know that's all that got me through this week!

ALBONDIGAS SOUP

Last week when we finally experienced our first storm of the season, soup was the first thing I thought to make so I asked my husband what kind of soup he would like.  I was assuming he would ask for Broccoli Cheese and was hoping he would suggest my favorite Chicken Tortilla.  He caught me off guard and wanted Albondigas.  I have never made it before so I immediately said no.  Later, I looked up a few recipes and realized it wasn't as difficult as it initially sounded.  I wanted it to be light and full of vegetable so this is the recipe I came up with.

INGREDIENTS:
1 Onion
2 Celery Sticks
2 Carrots
1 Yellow Squash
1/4 Green Pepper
Ground Turkey
1/2 Cup Brown Rice
48 oz Chicken Stock
Cumin

RECIPE:
1. Cook Rice.
2. Cut and saute 1/4 onion until clear, add other veggies and saute for 5 minutes.
3. Add chicken stock and bring to a boil.
4. Combine turkey, rice, 1/4 onion, salt and pepper and roll into meatballs.
5. Drop meatballs into boiled chicken stock one at a time.
6. Turn the heat down and let simmer for half an hour.  Serve and enjoy!
